MyChecksum

MyChecksum helps you to calculate checksums on files. Supported types of checksums are: MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA512 There are several use cases for this application: * Verify downloaded files When you download a file (e.g. an application from a website), there is more and more often a checksum provided, so that everybody can verify the downloaded file, maybe it is corrupted or maybe altered by somebody else ("bad guys?"). * Verify local files or own files You can create a checksum for your own file and save the checksum as a small text file. With this extra text file you can later on verify your file if it possibly has been altered (e.g. while file transfer to another website or copy from local disc to a external USB-Stick, CDR, Data-DVD, ...) * Provide Checksums on files you are offering to others, e.g. on a website. Calculate a checksum (type MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512) on your file and provide the checksum or the file(s) with the checksum to others. * Surely you will think of other use cases for MyChecksum ... To verify a file: 1. Use PushButton "Open" to select file or use "Drag&Drop" 2. Select type of checksum 2. Klick PushButton Calculate 3. Load a checksum from proper text file or paste it into text field 4. The color changes to green (OK) or red (not OK, mismatch of checksum), see screenshot Supported languages in user interface of MyChecksum: english and german The default language is english, but it can change to german automatically if your system preference for language is german(deutsch).
